The Hamilton Southeastern Royals bounced back with a home victory against Pendleton Heights, 76-72, on Saturday, Jan. 31.<\/p>\n
The Class 4A Royals used a strong 27-point third quarter to break a 35-35 halftime deadlock and led 62-48 entering the final eight minutes.<\/p>\n
The visiting Arabians attempted to rally with a 24-point fourth quarter, but HSE held on to win and snapped their three-game losing streak.<\/p>\n
HSE improved its season record to 8-9.<\/p>\n
Sophomore Varschon Clark paced the Royals with a game-high 21 points with four rebounds and seven assists. Clark shot 2-for-4 from 3-point range.<\/p>\n
Overall, HSE converted 11 of 24 shots from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n
Senior Luke Weemer had 17 points on a 6-for-9 shooting night, including 3-for-4 from 3-point. He also posted a team-best nine rebounds.<\/p>\n
Senior Landon Osswald finished with 14 points on 6 of 11 shooting. He went a perfect 2-for-2 in 3-point attempts.<\/p>\n
Senior Maverick Young had eight points and two 3-pointers with three rebounds. Freshman KJ Buckley chipped in seven points. Senior Kian Kelly added six points.<\/p>\n
The Royals head to HCC foe Franklin Central on Thursday where they look to improve on their 2-3 conference record.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n
