We really started off as a worship team, only doing live stuff. Our pastor reached out to us, and said, &#8216;We want to get you guys in the studio.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dartey was only 15 years old in 2018 when the band officially started to release music outside the walls of their church.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bridge Music talks about their first Juno nomination\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/W3UUS1gQpt8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re a collective of writers, videographers, rappers, and singers. We&#8217;re a whole conglomerate. I think right now we&#8217;re probably at 20 people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Montessa Barahoga is also a part of the group.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the base of it all, I love Jesus,&#8221; says Barahoga. &#8220;That&#8217;s the whole point. I know that all I&#8217;ve been given is from Him. I just want to return that breath and gift to him.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Technically Two Juno Nominations<\/h3>\n<p>Out of the five groups and Christian artists that were nominated this year, Dartey has a personal connection to two others, including his older brother.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For me personally, just being up there with my team and also getting nominated with my brother,&#8221; says Dartey. &#8220;And Ryan Ofei is like a cousin to my family. So all three of us are in the same category. And so just for me personally, I know that it&#8217;s a win for everyone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kofi Dartey, also nominated for a Juno this year, is Reggie&#8217;s oldest brother.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So Kofi&#8217;s my eldest brother. We&#8217;re four boys and I&#8217;m the youngest. Our manager and the CEO for our label is my second oldest brother. And then my creative partner and everything is my third oldest brother. I make music with my eldest brother (Kofi).&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a way, Reggie shares that it&#8217;s a double nomination for him as he&#8217;s featured on a lot of Kofi&#8217;s songs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To the team, it&#8217;s such a benchmark of the work that we&#8217;ve been able to put in. I know, we don&#8217;t like to look at accolades too much, because that&#8217;s not the reason why we do it. But it&#8217;s always great when we get a time to breathe, pause, and see that we did something special. It&#8217;s not just us who think that. Other people are starting to recognize that, especially from our country.
