After four years of sharing celebrity interviews and hot Hollywood gossip, comedian and actress Sherri Shepherd\u2019s<\/a> nationally syndicated daytime talk show will be going off the air in the fall 2026. While many are mourning the end of Shepherd\u2019s show, there\u2019s one demo that\u2019s full of schadenfreude <\/em>about it. <\/p>\n\n On Feb. 2<\/a>, leadership at production company Debmar-Mercury issued a statement about the end of the show, while leaving the door open for opportunities on other platforms.<\/p>\n \u201cThis decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production \u2013 which has found strong creative momentum this season \u2013 or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd. We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms,\u201d said co-presidents<\/a> Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus.<\/p>\n Shepherd hasn\u2019t spoken publicly about the news yet, but the internet is doing plenty of talking for her. While some of the online reactions to the news include people who are upset that a Black woman is losing such a prominent position on television, others aren\u2019t exactly sad about it and are reminding us how the former co-host of \u201cThe View\u201d stepped into the time slot in the first place.<\/p>\n In case you forgot, Shepherd was one of a series of guest hosts who kept Wendy Williams\u2019 purple chair warm while she dealt with personal and health issues. In February 2022,<\/a> Debmar-Mercury announced that Williams\u2019 show was coming to an end after 14 seasons, putting Shepherd\u2019s show in its place.<\/p>\n TikToker @khiculture <\/a>said he still hasn\u2019t gotten over how Shepherd got the job.<\/p>\n \u201cIt kind of left a nasty taste in my mouth how she took Wendy\u2019s place,\u201d he said<\/a>.<\/p>\n Others on the app agreed and felt the move was disrespectful to Williams\u2019 contributions over the years. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m glad Sherri\u2019s show is cancelled.
