As the search for Savannah Guthrie<\/a>\u2019s missing mother, Nancy, enters its fourth day, Pima County Sheriff<\/a> Chris Nanos<\/a> remains hopeful that the 84-year-old, who disappeared over the weekend and who authorities believe was abducted, is still alive.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here,\u201d Nanos said in an interview with NBC News\u2019 Liz Kreutz<\/a> that aired on Today on Wednesday. \u201cShe\u2019s present. She\u2019s alive, and we want to save her.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, as the FBI said Tuesday that it was investigating \u201chundreds of leads,\u201d that those leads \u201care critical to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite reports circulating Wednesday morning that Nancy Guthrie<\/a>\u2019s son-in-law had been identified as a possible suspect, Nanos quickly shot that down on Wednesday as well.<\/p>\n
