Paramount<\/a> CEO David Ellison<\/a> called Netflix<\/a> out for its \u201cmonopolistic\u201d tendencies while laying out his vision for the future of cinema in an open letter to the British creative community and the film and TV industry at large late Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Touting his own \u201cdeep love and appreciation for storytelling \u2014 especially on screen,\u201d the executive wrote that a deal between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery<\/a> would \u201cstrengthen competition by creating a more capable and effective rival to the dominant platforms,\u201d in stark contract to Netflix\u2019s path.<\/p>\n

He also offered a five-point plan, which included Increased Creative Output, Third-Party Content and Licensing, Preserving HBO, Theatrical Commitment and Preserving the Home Video Window.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
