mclusky<\/a> have announced a new mini-album titled i sure am getting sick of this bowling alley<\/em>, a six-song release that arrives March 20th digitally and May 1st on vinyl via Ipecac Recordings. The opening track \u201ci know computer\u201d can be streamed now.<\/p>\n The two-minute number is definitively mclusky \u2014 skeletal post-hardcore structured around the prominent bass lines of Damien Sayell. Frontman Andrew \u201cFalco\u201d Falkous provides the guitar stabs, and the band settles into a skronky rhythmic workout by the time the chorus comes around: an utterly sarcastic chant of \u201cit\u2019s a real nice feeling<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Get mcluksy Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cDamien probably likes \u2018I am computer\u2019 [sic] a bit too much but that\u2019s okay, the heart wants what the heart wants,\u201d joked Falco in a press release.<\/p>\n Regarding the other songs on the mini-album, he elaborated:<\/p>\n \u201ccontent. It drives the modern music world. photos. opinions. more photos. more opinions (please note \u2013 not all photo and are options are bad, just 99 percent of them). how about \u2013 and indulge me here \u2013 music? that content-y enough for you? fact is we can\u2019t stop writing, at least at the moment. it\u2019s fun (that\u2019s all it needs to be). it\u2019s the common denominator of band. only death will slow us down (note \u2013 it won\u2019t stop us).<\/p>\n the idea for this release starts as a bit of a stop-gap \u2013 a thing with which to help promote the north american tour \u2013 and ended up as something else entirely. \u2018i know computer\u2019 and \u2018as a dad\u2019 are new and are singles (they may make the next album, who can say, it\u2019s already half-recorded and you will like it).<\/p>\n \u2018spock culture\u2019 and \u2018hi! we\u2019re on strike\u2019 were recorded during the the world is still here\u2026 why didn\u2019t they make the album? I\u2019m not sure. Lyrically they are important historical documents.
