After Taylor Swift released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, to record-breaking numbers on Oct. 3, 2025, fans were quick to theorize which songs from the high-energy tracklist might be tagged for a wider release down the line.<\/p>\n
The first answer came fast, as the melodic and moody \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d was confirmed as the lead single the same day the album dropped. An accompanying music video<\/a> premiered in theaters nationwide alongside her album release party experience, and the dazzling short was one of her most ambitious yet, incorporating many familiar faces who appeared onstage with her during The Eras Tour.<\/p>\n With regards to a follow-up, fans waited patiently as autumn turned to winter, the new year coming and going without a hint at what the next single might be. Then, on Jan. 12, we got our answer. The singer-songwriter officially selected the upbeat and romantic \u201cOpalite\u201d as her sophomore Showgirl selection\u2014and this week, she revealed when fans can expect the music video via a countdown clock on her official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n While the music video for \u201cOpalite\u201d officially premieres tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 6, at 8 a.m. ET<\/strong>, it won\u2019t be available to watch on YouTube\u2014at least, not immediately. If you\u2019re hoping to see it as soon as it debuts Friday morning, you\u2019ll need a subscription to either Spotify Premium or Apple Music, as the video will be available exclusively on those platforms first. <\/p>\n But don\u2019t fret, my Swifite friends! If you don\u2019t have either subscription, you\u2019ll still be able to watch the video; you\u2019ll just have to be a little more patient, as it will go wide two days later on YouTube this Sunday, Feb. 8, at 8 a.m. ET<\/strong>.<\/p>\n And the song\u2019s selection as a single shouldn\u2019t come as too much of a surprise for fans, as Swift\u2019s been vocal about what that particular track means to her, as well as her fianc\u00e9, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that\u2019s [Travis\u2019s] favorite [song]. She went on to explain the concept behind the tune, adding, \u201cI have favorite words, favorite phrases, things that I\u2019ll put in an endless file of lyrics that I\u2019m constantly going to go and cherry-pick from when I\u2019m writing.
