NFL<\/a> stars won’t be the only ones taking the field for Super Bowl LX<\/a> in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n The spectacle of the Big Game will also feature a number of musical artists<\/a> who will take center stage prior to the New England Patriots<\/a>–Seattle Seahawks<\/a> clash, as well as in between.<\/p>\n That is not counting Bay Area hip-hop legends E-40 and Too $hort, who won’t perform on Sunday but will bring their flair to the NFL Honors stage<\/a> Thursday night.<\/p>\n Here’s what to know about the performers set to showcase their skills at the Super Bowl, which will be available to watch and stream on NBC and Peacock:<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNowadays the Super Bowl halftime show features some of the biggest names in pop music. But not too long ago, the halftime show was mostly marching bands and musical ensembles. In 1992, FOX encouraged viewers to turn off the Super Bowl by airing a live episode of the sketch-comedy show \u201cIn Living Color\u201d during halftime \u2014 and big names have headlined the mid-game break ever since.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Before fans enter Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, there will be a pre-game tailgate concert<\/a> featuring two artists. Teddy Swims, a Grammy-nominated vocalist from Atlanta, will headline the concert. The Bay Area’s very own LaRussell will open<\/a>.<\/p>\n The concert will be livestreamed on Peacock at 3:50 p.m. ET\/12:50 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n Following the tailgate concert, the first performance after will belong to Green Day<\/a>. The popular Bay Area band will kick things off during the opening festivities.<\/p>\n The national anthem will be performed by New Jersey native Charlie Puth<\/a>. The four-time Grammy-nominated vocalist also has a new studio album titled “Whatever’s Clever!” coming out on March 6. Fred Beam will perform the anthem in American Sign Language.<\/p>\n “America the Beautiful” will be performed by Washington native Brandi Carlile, an 11-time Grammy winner. Julian Ortiz will sign the song.<\/p>\n “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” the Black national anthem, will be sung by South Carolina native Coco Jones, a one-time Grammy winner. Beam will also sign this song, too.<\/p>\n The headliner for the halftime show<\/a> is Bad Bunny, a six-time Grammy winner<\/a> who’s ascension is far from its peak. The Puerto Rican had a cameo in the 2020 halftime show, but is now the main man on stage.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLive from New York, it\u2019s Bad Bunny! The Puerto Rican rapper kicked off Season 51 of \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d on Oct. 4 alongside musical guest Doja Cat. During his monologue, the singer reacted to being selected as the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show performer and addressed his critics. \u201cI\u2019m very happy. I\u2019m very happy, and I think everyone is happy about it – even Fox News,\u201d he joked, before an edited clip of spliced-together footage from the network played, which stated: \u201cBad Bunny is my favorite musician. He should be the next president.\u201d Afterwards, the Grammy winner delivered an empowering message to the Latino community in Spanish, highlighting their contribution to the U.S., and ended by saying in English, \u201cAnd if you didn\u2019t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.\u201d Plus, actor Jon Hamm also made a surprise cameo during the rapper\u2019s monologue.
