Chat Pile<\/a> have released two new songs on Seattle label Sub Pop<\/a>: \u201cMasks\u201d and a cover of Nirvana<\/a>\u2019s \u201cSifting.\u201d Both tracks will appear on the limited-edition 7″<\/a> the Oklahoma City band announced back in December. Give them a listen below.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a true dream to put out a single on Sub Pop, and our new song \u2019Masks\u2019 hopefully honors the spirit of the mythical, sometimes mystical, city of Seattle,\u201d Chat Pile said in a press statement. \u201cWe wanted to cover a song from the early Sub Pop era, and something off Bleach<\/em><\/a> seemed the obvious choice.\u201d To mark the release, the band donated $3,000 to the community-based immigrant justice organization DREAM Action OK<\/a>. Their statement also noted: \u201cMost importantly, FUCK ICE!\u201d<\/p>\n

Chat Pile shared their most recent solo LP, Cool World<\/em><\/a>, in 2024. Last year, they also dropped a collaborative album with Texas fingerstyle guitarist Hayden Pedigo<\/a>, In The Earth Again<\/em><\/a>. Their debut, God\u2019s Country<\/a>,<\/em> came out in 2022.<\/p>\n
