ALLENTOWN, Pa. \u2014 A rapper best known for a 2014 gold hit and who has put six albums in the Top 20 on the Hip Hop chart will play Archer Music Hall, it was announced.<\/p>\n
Freddie Gibbs, whose song “Old English” (with A$AP Ferg and Young Thug) achieved gold record sales, will perform at 7 p.m. June 4.<\/p>\n
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Geordie Greep, who formally was frontman for the British experimental rock band Black Midi, will open the show. <\/p>\n
\n\nTickets, at $46 general admission standing to $119.20 for seated table, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the Archer Musi Hall website or at the box office at 939 Hamilton St., Allentown. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gibbs in July saw his most recent album, “Alfredo 2” (with the Alchemist) become his highest-charting disc when it hit No. 1 on the Indie chart and No. 13 on Billboard’s overall Albums chart.<\/p>\n
Hitting the charts and continued success<\/h2>\n
Gibbs began releasing mixtapes in 2003, and first hit the charts in 2010 when his EP “Str8 Killa” peaked at No. 48 on the R&B\/Hip-Hop chart. <\/p>\n
He released his solo debut album, “ESGN,” in 2013 and it reached No. 4 on the Indie albums chart. <\/p>\n
A 2014 collaborative album, “Pi\u00f1ata” (with Madlib), did even better, crossing over to the Top 40 on the overall Albums chart.<\/p>\n
That same year saw the release of “Old English.”<\/p>\n
