Authorities escalated the case after searching the property<\/a> and finding what they described as concerning signs that Nancy may not have left voluntarily<\/a>. Reports indicate personal belongings and essential medication were left behind, while blood splatter evidence was also discovered at the scene.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    “We need a way to communicate so we can move forward. But first, we need to know that you have our mom. We are waiting for contact.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I don\u2019t know that the FBI is at all close to figuring out where it came from, my guess is that they haven\u2019t, based on what our IT team has done here. So I don\u2019t think they know who sent this,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    He added that the lack of communication channels may explain the family\u2019s public appeals, \u201cThat’s why I believe that they are begging for this because they have absolutely no avenue to make contact,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Ransom demands have reportedly been sent to several outlets, though officials have not verified their authenticity. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie\u2019s safe return.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    No suspects have been identified at this time. However, criminal defense attorney Brad Vinson, a partner at Smith and Vinson Law Firm in Austin, Texas, shared his perspective on the case with Irish Star US.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    \u201cStranger kidnappings of elderly adults are extremely rare,\u201d Vinson said. \u201cIf foul play is involved, motives are more likely personal rather than financial. Investigators would typically focus on access and opportunity rather than public notoriety.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Law enforcement officials returned to Nancy Guthrie\u2019s Tucson residence on Wednesday, where investigators were seen examining the garage. The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department said the visit was part of a routine follow-up.
