I can’t drive ’round this city, and Paris for that matter, without thinking about her,” Stewart, 35, stated during the interview, which took place in London.<\/p>\n “I can cry about her at any moment,” Stewart added while reflecting on, “All the love that poured out of this woman.”<\/p>\n Diana, the ex-wife of the then-Prince of Wales and future King Charles<\/a><\/strong>, died at the age of 36<\/a> following a car crash in Paris’\u00a0Pont de l’Alma tunnel in August 1977.<\/p>\n “She was plucked, plucked to death,” Stewart continued of Diana, whose car was being chased by paparazzi at the time of her death.<\/p>\n “Her rebellious qualities felt so desperate, and so young and so vulnerable,” Stewart said, noting that the high level of attention and scrutiny “does kind of soul suck.”<\/p>\n By the end of filming, Stewart said, “I did feel a bit like a shell, and I think she did too. That was the point.”<\/p>\n But the film would go on to earn Stewart her first Oscar nomination, despite the actress initially thinking she wasn’t right for the role.<\/p>\n “I told [director] Pablo [Larra\u00edn] <\/strong>he was insane and he should probably hire someone else, but he refused to accept that,” Stewart recalled, while explaining, “There were some massive distinctions between her and me. It was the statuesque thing. It was the eye color \u2014 I have green eyes; she has very famously blue eyes that match her ring.
