From creating one monster to killing another, Christoph Waltz<\/a>\u2019s winter has been a horror show.<\/p>\n

The 69-year-old Austrian Oscar winner played Henrich Harlander, Victor Frankenstein\u2019s wealthy benefactor, in Guillermo del Toro<\/a>\u2019s \u201cFrankenstein<\/a>,\u201d which received nine Oscar nominations in January. He also stars in Luc Besson<\/a>\u2019s upcoming \u201cDracula<\/a>\u201d adaptation, in which he plays Van Helsing<\/a> to Caleb Landry Jones\u2019 titular bloodsucker.<\/p>\n

But while there\u2019s kismet to Waltz appearing in two stylish adaptations of classic monster novels, he admits he didn\u2019t grow up reading either book. \u201cI wasn\u2019t into horror,\u201d Waltz says in accented English. \u201cBoth \u2018Frankenstein<\/a>\u2019 and \u2018Dracula<\/a>\u2019 are not part of the German-speaking literary canon. So they were mostly movies to me. I was duly impressed by them, but I didn\u2019t lose my self-control.\u201d<\/p>\n
