\n Taylor Swift is back in the headlines and this time it\u2019s for something more positive than what she\u2019s been used to lately.\n <\/p>\n

\n The superstar singer has dropped the music video for \u201cOpalite,\u201d the newest single from her album \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Swift wrote and directed the video, which features an array of stars and a \u201890s vibe.\n <\/p>\n

\n She dropped the video just before this weekend\u2019s Super Bowl. Last year, Swift felt like a star of the event, with speculation running rampant that she could appear at the halftime show since her now fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce\u2019s team the Kansas City Chiefs was in the game.\n <\/p>\n

\n This year, the weeks before the big game found Swift making news for past text messages<\/a> between her and actress Blake Lively, which have become part of Lively\u2019s suit against her former \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d costar and director Justin Baldoni.\n <\/p>\n

\n With a pet rock, MTV, a trip to the mall, cheesy commercials and a couple\u2019s photo shoot, Swift\u2019s new music video is a bit of a love letter to the 1990s.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThe idea for the Opalite music video crash landed into my imagination when I was doing promo for The Life of a Showgirl,\u201d Swift wrote on Instagram<\/a>, where she shared a series of photos from the video.\n <\/p>\n

\n In particular, it came while she was a guest on the UK\u2019s Graham Norton Show, \u201cone of my favorite shows,\u201d she wrote.\n <\/p>\n

\n Swift appeared on the show on October 3, 2025 to promote her 12th studio album.\n <\/p>\n

\n She appeared alongside actors Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Smith and singer Lewis Capaldi.\n <\/p>\n

\n During the show, Gleeson \u2014 an Irish actor best known for starring in the Harry Potter movies \u2014 joked about appearing in one of Swift\u2019s music videos, according to the singer. Thanks to the luck of the Irish, that inspired her to include him, as well as the other guests on the show and Norton himself for what she jokingly referred to as a \u201cschool group project but for adults and it isn\u2019t mandatory.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cTo my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time travel back to the 90\u2019s with us and help with this video,\u201d Swift wrote. \u201cYou might even recognize some friendly faces from The Eras Tour.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Opalite is a song about love, which is fitting since Kelce\u2019s birthstone is the opal.\n <\/p>\n

\n The video features an \u201cOpalite spray\u201d that has magical properties that allow it to turn inanimate objects into humans and vice versa.\n <\/p>\n

\n In the video, Swift keeps a rock as her bff and links up with Gleeson, who is in a painful relationship with a small cactus that transforms into Swift after a squirt from the Opalite spray.\n <\/p>\n

\n It\u2019s the second full music video from Swift\u2019s \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d and she clearly enjoyed making it.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cI had more fun than I ever imagined – Made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters,\u201d she wrote.\n <\/p>\n

\n The video is only available to view on Apple Music and Spotify Premium until February 8.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
