What spilled out wasn\u2019t just legal strategy \u2013 it was unfiltered texts, bruised egos, and behind-the-scenes power plays that exposed how ugly things got during the making of It Ends With Us<\/i>, movie based on book adaptation of Colleen Hover\u2019s novel.<\/p>\n
As a result, it became a Hollywood dumpster fire that\u2019s now impossible to ignore.<\/p>\n
Private texts <\/h2>\n
The documents reveal just how casually so many A-list celebrities were quietly pulled into this conflict.<\/p>\n
Among the most prominent exchanges: messages from Lively, asking Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to watch her cut of the movie and give feedback. The main highlight was the conversation between Lively and Taylor Swift, in which the singer allegedly called Baldoni a \u201cb***h.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, castmate Jenny Slate called Baldoni a \u201cclown\u201d and a \u201cfalse ally\u201d, while the actor\u2019s producing partner, Jamey Heath, labelled Lively \u201cbats**t crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Studio execs didn\u2019t hold back either. One Sony executive dubbed Lively as a \u201cf**king terrorist,\u201d while a marketing person called Baldoni \u201ca moron.\u201d Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group president Sanford Panitch slammed Lively for promoting her haircare line during press for a film based on domestic violence, calling it \u201cepic level stupid.\u201d<\/p>\n
Even baldoni\u2019s own PR rep, Jennifer Abel, vented in private, describing her client as \u201cpompous\u201d and \u201cso unlikable and unrealistic as a leading man.\u201d<\/p>\n
How it all started?<\/h2>\n
Lively sued Baldoni in late 2024, alleging sexual harassment and claiming he orchestrated smear campaign against her. Baldoni denied the accusations and countersued for $400 million, alleging extortion and defamation \u2013 a ase that was later dismissed.<\/p>\n

Jameela Jamil, Taylor Swift: Fallout factor!<\/p>\n
In the leaked messages, some of the most controversial ones are from Jameela Jamil, who vented to Baldoni\u2019s publicist \u2013 who also represented her \u2013 calling Lively \u201ca suicide bomber\u201d and criticising her upbeat press tone.<\/p>\n
Jamil later responded to the comments on TikTok, saying that she was \u201cpurely venting\u201d and that, as a survivor of domestic violence, Lively\u2019s press tone offended me.<\/p>\n
On contrary, Swift\u2019s text messages may carry the biggest emotional baggage. In one exchange, the singer-songwriter warned that allowing her music into the trailer might shift power towards Lively: \u201cIf Justin was strategic he would be like no Taylor Swift in the trailer because that gives you more power over the film.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lively replied: \u201cYou are so right\u2026 How stupid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Legal experts are split. Entertainment attorney Tre Lovell says many of the messages support Baldoni\u2019s argument that the conflict was about creative control, not harassment. \u201cThese messages are about control,\u201d he gave his opinion.<\/p>\n
Others disagree. Civil rights lawyer Lisa Bloom argues the documents show Lively raised concerns early and repeatedly. \u201cShe\u2019s complaining about Baldoni\u2019s misogyny a great deal,\u201d Bloom says, noting that studio executives \u201csound like they just did not give a damn.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lively\u2019s attorney Sigrid McCawley maintains the documents prove Baldoni and his company were aware of harassment concerns and failed to investigate.<\/p>\n
Baldoni\u2019s attorney, Bryan Freedman, disputes that interpretation, stating:<\/p>\n
\u201cA simple read of the newly released message exchanges make the truth abundantly clear.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reputational damage or emotional or both?<\/h2>\n
From a PR standpoint, neither star is winning. \u201cBlake no longer occupies the clean moral high ground,\u201d said crisis expert Mark Borkowski. \u201cHer messages suggest strategy, alliance-building and backstage choreography.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the same time, Baldoni\u2019s reputation has taken a hit. \u201cWe now know he was strongly disliked by at least three actresses on set,\u201d Bloom said.<\/p>\n
The Gossip Girl <\/i>alum, who is seeking $500 million in damages and claims $161 million in lost earnings, is reportedly worried about her image in the industry. \u201cBlake does worry about the industry\u2019s perception of her after this,\u201d a source said.<\/p>\n
Baldoni, on the other hand, is said to be exhausted. \u201cIt\u2019s difficult to read about people he thought he had good relationships with, saying bad things about him,\u201d said a source close to the actor.<\/p>\n

Lively has been keeping a low profile with her family, while Reynolds \u2013 whose own scathing texts calling Baldoni \u201ca thoroughbred, predatory fraudster\u201d were also unsealed \u2014 remains firmly in her corner.<\/p>\n
