The Great Backyard Bird Count<\/h2>\n

9 a.m. Feb. 14. Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida, 105 North S St. Wild Birds Unlimited and F.M Weston Audubon Society are partnering for the Great Backyard Bird Count. This is a global birding event powered by everyday nature-lovers like you. Participants will take an easy walk to a location to identify birds and organizers will help them learn how to submit what they see to support real bird research. Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade<\/h2>\n

2 p.m. Feb. 14. Palafox and Garden streets in historic downtown Pensacola. The Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade is annually the largest and most extravagant parade in Pensacola. It features most of the krewes from the area, local organizations and companies and everything from marching bands to scout groups. Many entrants come from out of town as well. The parade has over 6,000 participants, and often over 100,000 spectators. Before, during and after the parade, organizers work to ensure an alcohol and tobacco-free children\u2019s viewing area.
