Mike Wolfe<\/a> is reflecting on his \u201conce in a lifetime friendship\u201d with late American Pickers<\/a><\/em> costar Frank Fritz<\/a>, saying reports of a feud between them stemmed from Fritz\u2019s addiction issues.<\/p>\n \u201cI want people to know \u2014 and he would want people to know \u2014 that we loved each other like brothers,\u201d Wolfe told the Daily Mail<\/a><\/em> in a new interview, adding that he and Fritz shared a \u201conce in a lifetime friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n The two men starred together in American Pickers<\/em> on History Channel<\/a> starting in 2010, traveling the country in search of valuable and meaningful antiques. But Fritz left the show in 2021 and said he was estranged from Wolfe<\/a>, claiming they hadn\u2019t spoken in two years.<\/p>\n But in November 2024, weeks after Fritz died of stroke complications<\/a> at age 60, Wolfe revealed to People<\/a><\/em> that Fritz had struggled with an opioid addiction after undergoing back surgery.<\/p>\n History Channel\/YouTube<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThe reality of it is Frank was doing a lot of things that he was not supposed to do,\u201d Wolfe said in the new Daily Mail<\/em> interview. \u201cWe fought hard for him, and we loved him, and no matter how hard and no matter how much we wanted something for him, he had to make the decision to stop on his own.\u201d<\/p>\n And Wolfe said he didn\u2019t correct the feud narrative out of \u201crespect\u201d for his former costar.<\/p>\n Wolfe also recalled visiting Fritz at the nursing facility where the latter stayed after his 2022 stroke<\/a>, and though Fritz \u201ccould barely speak\u201d at the time, the American Pickers<\/em> stars bonded.<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted him to know how much I loved him,\u201d Wolfe said. \u201cI would show him photos on my phone of things that I found, and we would talk as best we could about everything that we accomplished together. There were a lot of tears shed, and there were a lot of laughs, and there were so many beautiful things.\u201d<\/p>\n Danielle Colby<\/a>, another star of American Pickers<\/em>, shared their memories of Fritz<\/a> in a Newsweek<\/em>\u00a0interview<\/a> last July. \u201cBoy, we miss Frank,\u201d they said. \u201cWe miss his laughter. We miss his sense of humor. I think his sense of humor was the most important piece of his personality that really kept us together and kept things on the same thread. And it was, man, that sense of humor is sharp.
