Chris continued: “It is becoming more and more difficult and, as I said, that statement that we’ve got in the last couple of minutes from Kensington Palace is clearly an acknowledgement that people are going to be talking about this… There are clearly demands for the Royal family to say something.<\/p>\n
“But then we should point out, what can they say? Andrew has been convicted of no wrongdoing, no conviction in a court of law. He’s denied all the allegations consistently.”<\/p>\n
The correspondent wrapped up: “We’re getting to a point now where the palace can’t keep referring back to that statement in October, where the King and Queen said their thoughts remain and always will remain with the victims and survivors of abuse.<\/p>\n
“The palace themselves are as surprised as we are when a new revelation comes out and a new email finds its way into one of our newsrooms. I think they’re in that point now where they have to start considering, ‘Do we say something? When do we say it? And also, what do we say, given Andrew’s persistent denials and the whole legality surrounding this issue.'”<\/p>\n
