Nancy<\/a>, the mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on January 31 before her family reported her as missing on February 1. Her disappearance is assumed to be a case of kidnapping. Blood stains at the 84-year-old\u2019s home<\/a> were confirmed to be hers, causing even more concern for her family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n On February 8, Swecker made an appearance on Fox News in which he questioned the legitimacy of Nancy\u2019s assumed kidnappers. He said that he is \u201cvery skeptical” of the situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He posed a question, asking if Nancy\u2019s disappearance was \u201creally a kidnapping.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cDoes somebody really have her, and is she really alive?\u201d continued Swecker.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cTo those imposters who are trying to take advantage and profit from this situation \u2014 we will investigate and ensure you are held accountable for your actions,\u201d said FBI Phoenix Special Agent in Charge Heith Janke.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Swecker expressed doubt that Nancy was kidnapped, stating \u201cIf this was a kidnapping, it would be a very simple matter to authenticate and provide proof of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Since Nancy\u2019s disappearance over a week ago, there has been no \u201ccredibly authenticated\u201d evidence proving that she is still alive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Swecker proposed an alternative theory regarding Nancy\u2019s missing status, saying that \u201cYou have to allow for the possibility that this was something more or something other than a kidnapping.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI really think there\u2019s a third party here that\u2019s just playing with them,\u201d he continued, \u201copportunists who think they can exploit this situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Swecker also made note of the fact that the first ransom letter demanded $1 million, and that the most recent letter asked for $6 million.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Since Nancy’s disappearance, Savannah and her siblings have shared multiple videos<\/a> to social media.
