Tucson, Ariz.\u2019s ABC affiliate\u00a0KGUN9 reported the potential captors\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/08\/us-news\/nancy-guthrie-ransom-demand-amount-revealed-by-local-tv-station\/?_gl=1*v7lqb0*_ga*MTQ0NjA2MDczNS4xNzU0OTI0MTA5*_ga_0DZ7LHF5PZ*czE3NzA2NTUwNTAkbzc2JGcxJHQxNzcwNjY0NjI2JGo1OCRsMCRoMA..\">demanded the Guthrie family pay $6 million<\/a>\u00a0in bitcoin by the deadline of Monday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. MT.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s appealing to it. She knows there is a deadline and she\u2019s desperate,\u201d Walder says. \u201cShe does say she\u2019s desperate. Whether this ransom is real or not, why would she say that?
