The insider shares that Stokes and Ballerini \u201cnever really got back to how it was in the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballerini was the one who decided to end her romance with Stokes this go-round, the insider adds. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t dramatic, just felt like she knew this wasn\u2019t forever and didn\u2019t want to waste their time,\u201d the source says.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Ballerini reflected on her separation<\/a> from Stokes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like outwardly, it looked a lot more dramatic than it was,\u201d Ballerini told Entertainment Tonight<\/em> at the 2026 Grammy Awards<\/a>. \u201cAnd that was quite the learning lesson for us. But I love him so much. We\u2019ve been together for quite a while now and done a lot of life together, and he was with me getting ready today, and he\u2019ll be with me when we wrap.\u201d<\/p>\n
