\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tYork Songs for a New World<\/em> Benefit Finds Full Cast<\/span><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Jay Copeland, Nikki Renee Daniels, Jason Gotay, and Jill Paice will star in the Jason Robert Brown song cycle March 30.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n York Theatre has found full casting for its\u00a0upcoming one-night-only benefit performance of Jason Robert Brown<\/a>‘s song cycle\u00a0Songs for a New World<\/em>, set for Theatre at St. Jean’s March 30. Jessica McRoberts<\/a> is directing.<\/p>\n Starring will be Jay Copeland<\/a> (The Wiz<\/em>), Nikki Renee Daniels (Once Upon a Mattress<\/em>), Jason Gotay<\/a> (Floyd Collins<\/em>), and Jill Paice<\/a> (The Woman in White<\/em>).<\/p>\n Premiering at WPA Theatre in 1995, Songs for a New World<\/em> launched the career of now-Tony winner Brown, all of 25 years old when the musical debuted. The work presents 16 narratively unconnected songs written on the connecting theme of moments of decision. Many of those songs have become favorites within Brown’s body of work, including “Stars and the Moon,” “I’m Not Afraid of Anything,” “I’d Give It All for You,” “She Cries,” and “Christmas Lullaby.” The original production featured a cast of newcomers that have all gone on to become Broadway favorites, including Brooks Ashmanskas, Andr\u00e9a Burns, Jessica Molaskey<\/a>, and Billy Porter. York’s performance is being presented via special arrangement with Music Theatre International.<\/p>\n York is presenting the evening in association with L.L. Ordinary Productions.<\/p>\n Benefit tickets include a reception.
