MUNA<\/a> have returned to announce a new album, Dancing on the Wall<\/em>, out on May 8th via Saddest Factory Records\/Secretly Group. They\u2019ve also shared the album\u2019s title track alongside plans for a run of album release shows in Los Angeles, London, and New York.<\/p>\n Dancing on the Wall<\/em> is MUNA\u2019s fourth studio album and their first effort in four years; their previous album, 2022\u2019s\u00a0MUNA<\/em>, earned the trio our Band of the Year<\/a> accolade in 2022. The LP was produced by the band\u2019s Naomi McPhereson. They\u2019ll celebrate the release of\u00a0Dancing on the Wall<\/em> with a series of underplays at The Shrine in Los Angeles (May 8th), Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York (May 16th-18th), and Heaven in London (May 26th-28th). With crystal-clear lead vocals from Katie Gavin and backing harmonies from Josette Maskin and Naomi McPherson, the song tracks the frustration and self-sabotage that come with unrequited love. The band have also shared the official music video for \u201cDancing on the Wall,\u201d featuring Gavin, Maskin, and McPherson grooving out, mugging dramatically, and finding strength in each other. It\u2019s written in the moment that the clock strikes midnight at the ball, and you have to give up the fantasy. In this case, it\u2019s the fantasy of loving someone or something that can\u2019t love you back.\u201d<\/p>\n MUNA have kept busy since their last era concluded. Gavin released a solo album,\u00a0What a Relief<\/em><\/a>, in 2024; the group also guested on songs by Holly Humberstone<\/a> and Empress Of<\/a>.<\/p>\n
