<\/story-highlights> Five-time Grammy Award-winning duo The Black Keys<\/a> and multiplatinum rockers Simple Plan<\/a> have been added to the summer concert calendar for Oklahoma City’s Zoo Amphitheatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Black Keys<\/a> will bring their huge “Peaches \u2018n Kream World Tour \u201926”<\/a> to the iconic OKC outdoor venue for a July 21 show<\/a>.<\/p>\n Celebrating their 25th anniversary, pop-punk hitmakers Simple Plan are routing their \u201cBigger Than You Think! Tour \u2013 The Sequel!\u201d<\/a> through OKC for an Aug. 8 concert<\/a> at the venue affectionately known as the Zoo Amp, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary season <\/a>this year.<\/p>\n The two newly announced concerts are added to two previously revealed summer shows<\/a>. Ella Langley, the Academy of Country Music’s reigning New Female Artist of the Year<\/a>, is bringing “The Dandelion Tour” to the historic OKC venue on June 18, and Motionless in White<\/a>, a popular metalcore band from Scranton<\/a>, Pennsylvania, is planning an Aug. 11 Zoo Amp show<\/a>.<\/p>\n They’re the first of several big concerts expected to be announced for the amphitheater’s milestone anniversary season, following a star-powered 2025 with shows featuring chart-topping Mexican music star Ivan Cornejo<\/a>, \u201cOrdinary\u201d pop hitmaker Alex Warren<\/a>, Grammy-winning Christian music star Lauren Daigle<\/a> and more.<\/p>\n The Zoo Amphitheatre’s storied history dates back to 1933, when construction started on the venue as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps<\/a>, an economic recovery program established to provide jobs during the Great Depression. Between 1933 and 1936, about 400 men lived in tents and wooden barracks in the area while they labored to lay the groundwork for Lincoln Park, the Oklahoma City Zoo, Zoo Lake and the Zoo Amphitheatre.<\/p>\n The first public works project to be completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in OKC, the Zoo Amp has been offering live entertainment since 1936, with \u201cThe Circus of 21 Death-Defying Acts\u201d playing for the amphitheater’s first audience. In its early years, the Zoo Amphitheatre<\/a> hosted circus extravaganzas, pageants, theatrical performances and public meetings, as well as concerts.<\/p>\n Although it’s had its ups and downs, the city-owned venue has hosted over the decades some of the top acts in music, including the Grateful Dead, Sting, Dire Straits, the Steve Miller Band, Santana, Judas Priest, Willie Nelson, Marvin Gaye, Joni Mitchell, Heart, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Oklahoma\u2019s own JJ Cale<\/a>, Cross Canadian Ragweed and The Flaming Lips<\/a>.<\/p>\n In 2024<\/a>, the venerable venue entered a new era as Los Angeles-based Gate 52<\/a> \u2014 a national concert promoter and venue management company that also manages the OKC venues The Criterion, Tower Theatre, Beer City Music Hall and Ponyboy \u2014 was brought on as new management. Since, millions of dollars have been invested in modernizing the Zoo Amphitheatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n Formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001, The Black Keys<\/a> \u2014 singer\/guitarist Dan Auerbach<\/a> and drummer Patrick Carney \u2014 announced Tuesday plans for their six-month “Peaches \u2018n Kream World Tour \u201926.”<\/a> The tour, which launches April 24 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, includes dates across North America and Europe.<\/p>\n Southern soul recording artist Eddie 9V<\/a> will open the July 21 OKC concert.<\/p>\n The trek will support The Black Keys’ 14th album together, “Peaches!,”<\/a> due out May 1 via Easy Eye Sound\/Warner.<\/p>\n For The Black Keys’ OKC show, Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, through the Citi Entertainment program; for presale details, go to www.citientertainment.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tickets go on sale<\/a> to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at https:\/\/okczooamp.com\/shows\/the-black-keys-peaches-n-kream<\/a>.<\/p>\n Formed in Montreal, the Canadian rock quartet Simple Plan<\/a> has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics and scored smash singles with smash singles \u201cI\u2019m Just A Kid,” \u201cWelcome to My Life” and \u201cSummer Paradise.”<\/p>\n The follow-up to the band’s 2025 trek, the second leg of Simple Plan’s 25th anniversary tour will again feature special guests Bowling For Soup<\/a> and 3OH!3<\/a> on all dates, including the Aug. 8 Zoo Amp show<\/a>.<\/p>\n Simple Plan tickets<\/a> are available starting with the Verizon and Citi presales, running from noon Tuesday, Feb. 10, through 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12.
