By JOANNA CRAWLEY, DEPUTY SHOWBIZ EDITOR (NEWS)<\/a> <\/p>\n Published:<\/span> 13:58 GMT, 11 February 2026 <\/span> | Updated:<\/span> 14:11 GMT, 11 February 2026 <\/span> <\/p>\n Acclaimed South Korean actor Jung Eun-woo has died at the age of 39, his family have confirmed.<\/p>\n The actor’s family broke the sad news a day after the star had posted a worrying post on Instagram.<\/p>\n The social media post featured photos of Hong Kong<\/a> actor Leslie Cheung, who died at the age of 46 in 2003 and singer Amy Winehouse<\/a>, who died in 2011 at 27.\u00a0<\/p>\n He also included photos of himself in the photo carousel alongside the caption: ‘Missed, jealous, sorry.’<\/p>\n A cause of his death is yet to be disclosed. His funeral is set to take place on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n Jung’s acting career spanned two decades and began with an appearance in the third season of the KBS drama titled Sharp, which ran between 2003 and 2007.\u00a0<\/p>\n Acclaimed South Korean actor Jung Eun-woo has died at the age of 39, his family have confirmed; Pictured in 2013<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He also appeared on several other series, including the SBS drama Bride of the Sun.<\/p>\n In 2012, he won the New Star Award at the SBS Drama Awards, and in 2013, he received the Special Acting Award in the Single-Act Special Drama Category at the same awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n Away from acting, the star had frequent appearances on the late Andr\u00e9 Kim’s fashion show.\u00a0<\/p>\n The last film he starred in was a 2021 movie titled Memory: Manipulated Murder.<\/p>\n The star admitted that he had no training, instead pivoting to acting after an injury forced him to quit a potential career in basketball.<\/p>\n ‘I didn’t learn acting by going to an academy,’ he once explained.’I learned it on set.
