Kim Gordon<\/a> has released \u201cDIRTY TECH,\u201d the second single from her upcoming album, PLAY ME<\/em><\/a>, due out March 13th via Matador Records. Stream the track below.<\/p>\n Sonically, \u201cDIRTY TECH\u201d is worlds away from the lead single, \u201cNOT TODAY,\u201d<\/a> which focused more on Gordon stretching her vocals across cascading drums and noodling guitar. Here, Gordon wonders aloud about the future of technology over elastic, thrumming\u00a0production that wouldn\u2019t be out of place on a Drake album.<\/p>\n Pre-order PLAY ME<\/em> on Vinyl\/CD<\/a><\/p>\n The track is meant to explore the power struggle between humans and robots.\u00a0\u201cI was kind of musing about, is my next boss going to be an AI chatbot?\u201d Gordon explained in a press release. \u201cWe\u2019re the first ones whose lights are going to go out \u2014 not the tech billionaires. It\u2019s so abstract that people can\u2019t comprehend.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n In the music video, directed by Moni Haworth, Gordon looks fab in a creepy, abandoned corporate office. Thematically, the visuals complement the song itself, as Gordon uses open space and the absence of others to further hammer her point home: the robots cannot win.
