Sherri Shepherd is getting real about the cancellation of her show \u201cSherri\u201d<\/a> last week after four seasons. <\/p>\n \u201cI want to say to y\u2019all, everybody, y\u2019all try not to faint or fall out \u2018cause healthcare is expensive and none of us have it anymore,\u201d the talk show host and comedian said Tuesday on Instagram<\/a> in a mostly lighthearted video addressing the cancellation news. \u201cSo y\u2019all don\u2019t fall out.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I have to say, you know, thinking about it, I\u2019m truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love that I have received from all of you.\u201d<\/p>\n She thanked her audience and people who supported her on social media, in texts and in emails, plus \u201cpeople who stop me in the store and still talk to me despite me not having a wig on\u201d for their support. <\/p>\n Saying the show was built on \u201cone thing, joy,\u201d Shepherd declared that she and her team weren\u2019t ready to give up on keeping the show alive in some form. The declaration earned her a standing ovation from her studio audience. \u201cNow, I don\u2019t know exactly what it\u2019s going to look like,\u201d she said, \u201cbut I promise I will continue to spread joy.\u201d<\/p>\n She also continued with a little side-eye-inspiring commentary, delivering a message to future guests: \u201cPlease don\u2019t you be trying nothing crazy on this show.\u201d<\/p>\n She name-checked supervising producer Norman Baker, who she said \u201cplans on streaking on the last day\u201d of the show. She doesn\u2019t want anyone running across the stage naked, she said. \u201cI want security to watch Norman Baker because I don\u2019t want to see all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n As for her pal and fellow comedian Kym Whitley<\/a>, Shepherd said she\u2019s watching. <\/p>\n \u201cMy best friend, Kym Whitley<\/a>, says she\u2019s bringing an empty suitcase so she can steal stuff from the greenrooms,\u201d which Shepherd had decorated with memorabilia to honor funny women including Lucille Ball, Joan Rivers, Marsha Warfield and Whoopi Goldberg. \u201cShe says she\u2019s got dibs on all Whoopi shoes in the room<\/a>. Security, I need you to watch her too. And I got no problem turning Kym Whitley in to the authorities.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I\u2019m saying to all of my guests, don\u2019t come here committing petty crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n Whitley chimed in with a comment on the video, writing, \u201cI love you, friend. I know this was a hard message to relay. You did well, but I am taking everything I can out of the green room, coffee machine, Loose drinks, snacks, pillows, and if I see any of your wigs laying around, they are going with me. I\u2019ll see you on the next journey.\u201d<\/p>\n Other famous folks offering support in comments included Jaleel White<\/a>, Terrell Owens, Stacy London<\/a>, Holly Robinson Peete<\/a>, Angela Beyinc\u00e9, Elise Neal, Karamo Brown<\/a>, Star Jones<\/a>, Big Freedia, Sheryl Underwood<\/a> and Tamera Mowry.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen one door closes, another one opens,\u201d White wrote. \u201cYou are SO loved.\u201d<\/p>\n Shepherd talked about always praying the show would leave viewers happier than when they came and expressed gratitude for the four seasons she had been given.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we will do is we will continue to have a good time\u201d before the fourth season comes to a close, she promised. \u201cAnd I just want to thank you because my staff and my crew, that is what we\u2019re all about. Making sure from the moment you walk in and turn me on, you are having a good time. Because like your favorite auntie, I\u2019m here to make you laugh, get in your business and stay longer than you planned.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the cancellation news, \u201cSherri\u201d will continue production until fall. <\/p>\n Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus last week attributed the cancellation to \u201cthe evolving daytime television landscape.\u201d The decision \u201cdoes not reflect the strength of the show, its production \u2014 which has found strong creative momentum this season \u2014 or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,\u201d they added in a statement to The Times.<\/p>\n Times staff writer Alexandra Del Rosario contributed to this report.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
