Laibach<\/a> have detailed MUSICK<\/em>, the Slovenian group\u2019s first new album of original material since 2014. It arrives May 1st via Mute.<\/p>\n The album is described as the legendary avant-garde industrial outfit\u2019s \u201cmost pop outing\u201d to date, as hinted by the lead single \u201cAllgorhythm,\u201d which features Ghanaian singer Wiyaala and a notable co-production credit from pop auteur Richard X. Building from a humorous spoken-word passage from frontman Milan Fras, the song kicks into a club-ready, dance-pop beat that occasionally drops out for more sardonic lines from Fras, such as the chorus refrain: \u201cSlaves to the algorithm.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The rest of the album sees the group making similar observations about the \u201cpresent era of warped reality and gaudy AI copycatting.\u201d Other sonic excursions include dips into J- and K-pop, with the band \u2014 primarily associated with industrial music \u2014 embracing a \u201cbroad spectrum of contemporary music production.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n \u201cHowever our primary influence and reference point remained Laibach itself,\u201d the group assured in a press release, \u201cin all our shades, variations, and historical transformations.\u201d<\/p>\n Laibach will be supporting the album with a European\/UK tour that launches in mid-May.
