Long Island Filmmaker Robert Lichter (a.k.a. Bert Blotto) will screen his film “Hello! My name is Blotto:\u00a0The Movie<\/em>“\u00a0<\/em>at the\u00a0Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame<\/a>\u00a0in Stony Brook Village (97 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY) on Friday, February 13th, at 7 pm.<\/p>\n A Q&A with Lichter and band member Broadway Blotto will follow the screening emceed by LIMEHOF Vice Chairman Tom Needham. This is part of LIMEHOF’s Local Long Island Filmmaker’s Series.<\/p>\n The event is free for members or $10 for non-members. The film ticket includes the screening and Q&A only (no access to the exhibits). My Name is Blotto: The Movie<\/em><\/a>\u00a0proved to be very popular (the film block sold out) as part of the inaugural\u00a0<\/strong>LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival<\/a>\u00a0in August 2025. The film chronicles the journey of upstate New York rock band\u00a0Blotto<\/a>, from their 1970s beginnings to 1980s MTV fame and beyond. The film traces their rise from club gigs to national touring following their surprise hit, \u201cI Wanna Be a Lifeguard,\u201d and celebrates their enduring legacy.\u00a0<\/strong>Lichter went on to win\u00a0<\/strong>the first LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival\u00a0Spirit of Independent Filmmaking Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lichter says he was inspired to create the documentary (which is his first) from all the videos and pictures of the band he had accumulated over 25 years. He originally thought of building an online video archive.
