Canadian ice dancers Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier have gone viral after pulling off what social media users are calling an \u201cinsane<\/a>\u201d and \u201cincredible save<\/a>\u201d to avoid a potentially costly wardrobe malfunction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Right toward the end of their rhythm dance<\/a> at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, Poirier\u2019s wrist cuff came loose and caught on Gilles\u2019 tights. Amid the high-energy performance \u2014 set to RuPaul\u2019s \u201cSupermodel (You Better Work)\u201d and Right Said Fred\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m Too Sexy\u201d \u2014 Gilles caught the cuff and held onto it until the routine ended, preventing it from falling onto the ice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Had the cuff dropped, the pair would have lost one point.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That would have dumped them from their bronze-medal position and elevated British rivals Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson into the podium spot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Gilles and Poirier will return to the ice on Wednesday for the free dance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The duo previously placed seventh at Beijing 2022 and eighth at PyeongChang 2018. They earned silver at the World Championships in both 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
