I\u2019ve got some other stuff I\u2019ve got to do but I\u2019ll be back. I\u2019m pleased to say Jarvis has agreed to return to the station for a year as my cover\u2014cool, thanks Jarvis.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cJarvis\u201d Pop mentions is Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker<\/a><\/strong>, who Pop initially replaced when he went on hiatus from his Sunday show in March 2014, per The Independent<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Born James Osterberg<\/strong>, Pop has continued to tour, perform and record despite his advanced age, although it\u2019s unclear what \u201cmusic projects\u201d he\u2019s focusing on during his hiatus from his radio show.<\/p>\n There are only three tour engagements currently listed on his official website<\/a>.\u00a0 Pop is playing both Sundays<\/a> of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival<\/a> in Indio, Calif., on April 12 and 19. That day the festival is headlined by Latin music superstar Karol G<\/strong> with Young Thug<\/strong>, Kaskade<\/strong>, Laufey<\/strong>, Major Lazer<\/strong>, Wet Leg and dozens of others on the bill.<\/p>\n Pop is also headlining the two-day Mosswood Meltdown<\/a> in Oakland, Calif., hosted by cult film star John Waters, on July 18.<\/p>\n His final announced date currently listed on his website is Aug. 21 in his hometown of Detroit at Comerica Park, opening for My Chemical Romance on that band\u2019s \u201cThe Black Parade\u201d tour.<\/p>\n The relatively light touring schedule suggests that Iggy is at work on a new album. His last album, Every Loser<\/em>, was released in 2023 and featured an all-star backing band with drummer Chad Smith<\/strong> of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, former Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer<\/strong> and Andrew Watt<\/strong>, who also produced the album. Other guests included former Jane\u2019s Addiction members Dave Navarro<\/strong>, Eric Avery<\/strong> and Chris Chaney<\/strong>, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan<\/strong>, Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard<\/strong>, and drummers the late Taylor Hawkins<\/strong> and Travis Barker<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Iggy is also featured on a just released song \u201cGod\u2019s Lonely Man\u201d by Anna Calvi<\/strong> that was recently debuted on BBC 6 Music.
