Royal insiders say Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was loaned $23 million to pay off accuser Virginia Giuffre by his family \u2014 and has yet to pay back a single cent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The disgraced former prince, who was stripped of his titles over his association with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was reportedly loaned \u00a312,000,000 ($23 million) for the 2022 settlement, the majority of which (\u00a37,000,000) came from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Another \u00a33,000,000 came from his late father Prince Philip\u2019s estate, while his brother stumped up \u00a31.5 million, according to The Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ms Giuffre, who died by suicide in Western Australia back in April 2025, alleged that she was trafficked to have sex with Andrew three times when she was 17 by Epstein.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andrew has denied any wrongdoing but settled with Ms Giuffre outside of court.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A source said the former prince had \u201cnot paid back a penny\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Insiders say it was expected Andrew would use funds from the sale of his $36 million Swiss chalet \u2014 but the property was saddled with a huge mortgage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The news comes amid revelations that the former prince\u2019s daughter, Princess Beatrice, was a witness to a phone call in which her mother defended Epstein\u2019s honour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The admission, unearthed in the latest batch of the Epstein files released by the US Department of Justice, stem from emails between Andrew\u2019s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Epstein and her then-spokesperson James Henderson in 2011.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The previous year, the former duchess had come under fire for accepting money from Epstein. In 2011, she commissioned an exclusive interview in the Evening Standard with Geordie Greig, who was the publication\u2019s editor at the time, in a bid to clear her name.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI personally, on behalf of myself, deeply regret that Jeffrey Epstein became involved in any way with me,\u201d she said at the time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But Epstein was reportedly unhappy with the way he was described in the article, and Ferguson reached out to Mr Henderson in an attempt to make amends.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the email she revealed that Beatrice had witnessed a phone call where she spoke to the reporter to clarify that Epstein was not a paedophile.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
