Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s idyllic life in Montecito could be disrupted as the neighborhood’s residents have been issued a warning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Drivers in the Montecito area have been urged to exercise “caution” when making their way around the sites in question.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Some of the disruption is nearing Meghan and Harry, as it’s taking place less than a 10-minute drive from their $29 million mansion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Local Santa Barbara news site Edhat<\/a> has warned residents to expect lane closures and detours on Highway 101 for the next week. The disruption is being caused by “major” work taking place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The lane from Los Patos Way to San Ysidro Road and the San Ysidro Road off-ramp will be closed, according to the website. The work began on February 8 and is expected to finish on February 21.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Santa Barbara South and Padaro will be affected, as well as Montecito. Drivers are being urged to be alert when traveling through the areas where a reduced speed limit of 55 mph is currently in effect.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Drivers are also being encouraged to plan their journeys ahead of time to allow for any extra travel time as the construction work continues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Workers are currently paving new roadway sections, upgrading drainage systems, installing electrical lighting connections and making new foundations for overhead signs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Crews in Montecito will also be removing existing pavement and installing new electrical infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When Harry and Meghan bought their Montecito home, it’s believed they spent just under $15 million on the property. However, it’s now worth an impressive $29 million.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The mansion has a number of jaw-dropping features, including a wine cellar, outdoot pool and tennis court, and an over-water spa room. The property also features a sprawling garden perfect for Archie and Lilibet to tun about in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meghan sometimes gives fans glimpses inside her mansion on her Instagram page, where she’s shown off places like the inside of their study and well-stocked kitchen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The former Suits actress spoke out about the home in an interview with The Cut<\/a> back in 2022. “One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” she shared.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meghan added, “See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’ And now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.'”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
