Nair\u2019s career spans three decades. As the MD of Applause Entertainment, a venture of the Aditya Birla Group, he leads a young, diverse and dynamic creative and business team that has, in eight years, established an exceptional content and IP studio in India.<\/p>\n
Powered by its innovative Hub & Spoke Flywheel, Applause has created acclaimed shows like Mrs Deshpande, The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination, Black Warrant and the Criminal Justice franchise.<\/p>\n
Expanding its creative canvas, Applause has ventured into theatrical films and documentaries with notable projects like Zwigato, Tamil blockbusters Bison and Por Thozhil, romcom Do Aur Do Pyaar, direct-to-streaming film Sharmajee Ki Beti and docuseries Modern Masters.<\/p>\n
Applause recently launched its dedicated kids\u2019 animation channel, ApplaToon, exclusively on YouTube. Content in the pipeline includes an ambitious Mahatma Gandhi biopic series and a big commercial movie slate.<\/p>\n
Nair has previously held CEO positions at Star India, NDTV Imagine and Balaji Telefilms. He has been instrumental in the creation and success of programmes such as Kaun Banega Crorepati, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Koffee with Karan and The Great Indian Comedy Show.<\/p>\n
