Here\u2019s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.<\/em><\/p>\n ANDREW BIRD \u2013 \u201cNEED SOMEONE\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n This week\u2019s episode of hit HBO medical drama The Pitt<\/em> features a new original song by Andrew Bird that was co-written with the series\u2019 composer, Gavin Brivik, with a specific scene in mind. \u201cI really enjoy these projects because the challenge is to respond to the emotion of the scene with melody and lyrics,\u201d Bird says. \u201cThere\u2019s a bit more clarity of purpose to it as opposed to writing for myself. I was thinking of all the hardships the characters have endured, and how if you are an empathetic, good person you can hope that people will be there for you when it\u2019s your time to pass on. I suppose it\u2019s really about karma. I love how this show champions our healthcare workers and first responders who do what they do for all the right reasons: to help those in need and who are willing to put themselves in harm\u2019s way for the greater good. Gavin was a pleasure to work with. All in all \u2013 a gratifying experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
