Bic Runga\u2019s sixth studio album,\u00a0Red Sunset<\/em>, has been released \u2013 marking her first collection of all-new material in 15 years.<\/p>\n Recorded in Paris during the winter of 2025, Red Sunset<\/em> is Runga\u2019s first album of original songs since 2011\u2019s Belle<\/em>. Co-produced by Bic Runga and Kody Nielson, the record captures a reflective, quietly expansive chapter in the career of one of Aotearoa\u2019s most enduring songwriters.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter such a long time between albums, I didn\u2019t want to rush this one,\u201d she shared. \u201cThese songs came together slowly, in a very particular place and time, and that space really shaped how the record sounds and feels.\u201d<\/p>\n It features singles \u201cIt\u2019s Like Summertime\u201d<\/a>, a song in which Runga recalled her carefree past while looking towards a hopeful future, and \u201cParis in the Rain\u201d, a cinematic anthem inspired by the titular French city. She also released the title track as a single<\/a>, as well as \u201cGhost in Your Bed\u201d<\/a>, which offers further perspective on the dreamy indie landscapes she takes brilliant strides through on this record.<\/p>\n
