When fans swiped to the next snap, they saw the pair hugging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2764\ufe0f,\u201d she captioned the post.<\/p>\n<p>Kesha and Van Der Beek, who died at age 48, previously starred together in her \u201cBlow\u201d music video, which premiered in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The music video opens with Kesha sipping a glass of champagne while talking to unicorns. Van Der Beek then enters and runs a comb through his hair before ripping his blazer off and dancing in the direction of Kesha.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, well, well, if it isn\u2019t James Van Der Douche,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t appreciate you slander-beeking my name, Ke-dollar-sign-ha,\u201d he shoots back.<\/p>\n<p>After exchanging more quips, the duo hit the dance floor before the video ends with an all-out battle that leaves Van Der Beek dead \u2014 with his head mounted on a plaque.<\/p>\n<p>Kesha\u2019s tribute came after Van Der Beek\u2019s family shared the news of his death via Instagram on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ke$ha - Blow (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CFWX0hWCbng?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201cOur beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,\u201d their statement read. \u201cHe met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James and wife <strong>Kimberly Van Der Beek<\/strong>, who tied the knot in 2010, shared six kids: Olivia, 15, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 12, Emilia, 9, Gwendolyn, 7, and Jeremiah, 4.<\/p>\n<p>The Travis County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office confirmed to <em>Us Weekly<\/em> on Wednesday that Van Der Beek was pronounced dead at 6:44 a.m. A medical professional made the call to the examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/em> alum announced in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with stage III colorectal cancer the year prior.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the actor was set to reunite with his <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/dawsons-creek-cast-reacts-to-james-van-der-beeks-death-at-age-48\/\"><em>Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/em> costars<\/a> for a reading of the teen drama\u2019s pilot, with ticket sales benefiting the F Cancer nonprofit organization. The day before the event, however, James dropped out, citing health struggles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the evening I\u2019d been looking forward to MOST since my angel <strong>Michelle Williams<\/strong> said she was putting it together, way back in January,\u201d he wrote via Instagram in September 2025. \u201cSo you can imagine how gutted I was when two stomach viruses conspired to knock me out of commission and keep me grounded at the worst possible moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cDespite every effort\u2026 I won\u2019t get to be there.
