The Athletics <\/a>acquired right-hander A.J. Causey from the Kansas City Royals for right-hander Mitch Spence on Thursday.<\/p>\nCausey was in camp for the Royals as a non-roster invite.<\/p>\n
The A\u2019s will move to Las Vegas prior to the 2028 season, when their new ballpark is completed on the Strip.<\/p>\n
The Athletics picked Spence first overall in the Rule 5 draft before the 2024 season, and he\u2019s pitched the past two years with them. He went 3-6 with a 5.10 ERA in 32 appearances \u2014 including eight starts \u2014 in 2025.<\/p>\n
Spence was designated for assignment by the A\u2019s on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Kansas City put right-hander Alec Marsh on the 60-day injured list to make room for Spence on the 40-man roster.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
