I mean, we had the one demand where they asked for money,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut is it really for money, or is it for revenge for something?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>There is no clear motive for the abduction of Savannah Guthrie\u2019s mom.  <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/savannahguthrie<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cThat\u2019s what makes me say this is a kidnapping. \u201cThe motivation for it is where we get stuck, right?\u201d Nanos said.  <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/savannahguthrie<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nanos\u2019 clarification came after a law enforcement source <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/video\/2026\/02\/16\/investigators-believe-nancy-guthries-abduction-was-burglary-gone-wrong\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told AZFamily<\/a> that there was speculation that Guthrie\u2019s disappearance was the product of a botched robbery.<\/p>\n<p>However, Nanos <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/law-enforcement-source-disputes-burglary-gone-wrong-theory-guthrie-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Fox News <\/a>that the burglary theory did not come from his own team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt did not come from us. No idea and even though that is one of many possibilities, we would never speculate such a thing.
