Robert Duvall<\/strong>, known for his dynamic acting performances in The Godfather<\/em>, Apocalypse Now<\/em>, Network<\/em> and more, has died<\/a> at age 95.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time,\u201d Duvall\u2019s wife, Luciana Pedraza<\/strong><\/a>, announced via Facebook<\/a> on Monday, February 16. \u201cBob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement continued, \u201cTo the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented. In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all. Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans of the actor offered their condolences to the family in the comments section of the post.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth of my kids are named after his character in Lonesome Dove<\/em>. My daughter\u2019s middle name is Augusta and my son\u2019s is McRae. He was truly one of the good guys. God bless you and your family,\u201d one person commented underneath the post, while a second person said, \u201cHe will live on through his body of work, legends like Robert are immortal because what they leave behind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRest in Peace, dear man. Beautiful tribute. He finessed every character with excellence. For what greater gift could he have given than to whet the movie goer\u2019s appetite for the finest in filmmaking,\u201d said a third person, while a fourth wrote, \u201cOne of the greats. The Godfather<\/em> is not The Godfather<\/em> without Tom Hagen.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the months prior to his death, Duvall shared a video via Facebook sending a message to his fans for the holidays.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo all my fans, have a happy happy Thanksgiving and a great year coming up. God bless,\u201d he said in the November 2025 clip.<\/p>\n

His list of impressive accolades also included roles in To Kill a Mockingbird<\/em> (1962), Lonesome Dove<\/em> (1989) and Tender Mercies<\/em> (1983), which earned him his first Academy Award win. (The actor scored a total of seven Oscar nominations throughout his career.)<\/p>\n
