St. Louis has a thriving punk scene with new bands and music veterans leading the charge. In this month\u2019s installment of St. Louis on the Air<\/i>\u2019s new music roundup, Wes Hoffman<\/u><\/a> \u2014 lead singer of Wes Hoffman & Friends \u2014 joined music show originator Miya Norfleet to discuss their favorite tracks from local talent. Those favorites include pop-punk band Sideways and its debut single \u201cOn My Own.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI saw [Sideways] play last summer, and I really just fell in love with their music,\u201d he said. \u201cI’m a pop-punk kid at heart, and it’s a very catchy, melodic, upbeat song.\u201d<\/p>\n While the majority of this month\u2019s list leans punk rock, Norfleet brought a soulful vibe with \u201cSunshine\u201d from hip-hop artist Davie Napalm.<\/p>\n \u201cIt’s one of those uplifting songs,\u201d she said. \u201cI’m getting out of the winter funk. I’m tired of it. The snow is melting. The sun is literally shining right now. And yes, you have to have some bad times to really appreciate it.
