International sales company Rise and Shine<\/a> has acquired Norwegian documentary \u201cIn Cod We Trust,\u201d directed by Guro Bjerk<\/a>. The film will compete in the Newcomer Competition section at Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Cod We Trust\u201d is shot in B\u00e5tsfjord, a fishing port where \u201ccod is more important than God,\u201d Bjerk tells Variety. \u201cIt is a place where people have something most people have already lost: safety, trust, curiosity, freedom \u2013 and most are still open-minded.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bjerk adds, \u201c \u2018In Cod We Trust\u2019 is a portrait of a village, and a meditation on home and belonging. It reveals that in the coldest places on Earth, you find the warmest and funniest people.\u201d<\/p>\n
