{"id":2285566,"date":"2026-02-17T12:21:04","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T12:21:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2285566"},"modified":"2026-02-17T12:21:04","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T12:21:04","slug":"music-distributor-alliance-entertainment-says-it-sold-over-16m-vinyl-records-and-13m-cds-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/music-distributor-alliance-entertainment-says-it-sold-over-16m-vinyl-records-and-13m-cds-in-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Music distributor Alliance Entertainment says it sold over 16m vinyl records and 13m CDs in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>US-based physical entertainment distributor and wholesaler Alliance Entertainment has reported an uptick in its vinyl and CD sales as part of its financial results for calendar Q4 2025.<\/p>\n<p>For Q4 (the company\u2019s fiscal second quarter ended December 31, 2025), the Florida-headquartered firm posted a <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>3% year-over-year<\/strong><\/span> increase in vinyl record sales, which it attributed to \u201ccontinued consumer demand for collectible and limited-edition releases\u201d (although the rate of growth was slower than the <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>12% YoY<\/strong><\/span> increase posted this time last year).<\/p>\n<p>CD sales were up approximately <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>5% YoY,<\/strong><\/span> supported, according to the company, \u201cby higher unit volumes and the company\u2019s first full quarter as the exclusive distributor for Virgin Music Group through its AMPED Distribution division\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As of August 2025,\u00a0<strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-processed=\"true\">Virgin<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/virgin-music-group-physical-distribution-amped\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moved<\/a> a significant portion of its US physical distribution (CDs and vinyl) to Alliance subsidiary AMPED.<\/p>\n<p>Alliance Entertainment\u2019s total revenues for the quarter were <strong>$369 million<\/strong>, down <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>6.3% YoY<\/strong><\/span> from<strong> $394 million<\/strong> in the year-ago period, reflecting declines in gaming hardware and arcade sales that offset growth in music and collectibles.<\/p>\n<p>Alliance\u2019s quarterly update follows the recent publication of stats on the wider US market by research firm <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/half-of-all-paid-music-streams-globally-derive-from-just-4-countries-and-other-highlights-from-luminates-latest-report\/\">Luminate, whose Year-End Music Report<\/a>\u00a0showed that US vinyl sales increased for the 19th consecutive year in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Vinyl sales in the world\u2019s largest recorded music market grew<strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\">8.6% YoY<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>47.9 million<\/strong>, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Luminate [213 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/luminate\/\">Luminate<\/a>, with more than<strong>\u00a04 in 10<\/strong> vinyl records sold at indie record stores. We still sold 13 million CDs last year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">JEFF WALKER, ALLIANCE ENTERTAINMENT<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Alliance <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/music-distributor-alliance-entertainment-completes-480m-spac-merger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">went public in 2023<\/a> via a SPAC merger that saw the company listed on the NASDAQ.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to investors on the company\u2019s latest earnings call last Thursday (February 12), Walker described its vinyl and CD sales as \u201cextremely strong right now\u201d, with major new releases by Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, and BTS on the horizon.<\/p>\n<p>He also confirmed that \u201cfor [calendar] 2025, Alliance sold over 16 million vinyl records, and we sold over 13 million CDs.\u201d He added: \u201cSome people that say, CDs are dead, who buys CDs anymore? We still sold 13 million CDs last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are seeing some pretty strong sales on the CD side, and there is definitely a lot of communication [on] social media right now on physical music, vinyl, CD, as well DVD.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of this is still happening while everybody can listen to the music on a digital platform[s], but collectors want to have a collection of their favorite artists at their house. We are looking at how we are continuing to work with the labels to create more and better product[s] for the fans there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in Alliance\u2019s earnings update, the firm noted that it has completed its acquisition of technology company <strong>Endstate<\/strong> and established a dedicated NFC-enabled authentication and digital product identity platform called <strong>Endstate Authentic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the firm, the platform will enable \u201cauthenticated ownership, provenance, and verified resale across premium physical goods, supporting the full lifecycle of collectible products from initial sale through secondary markets\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe acquisition of Endstate and the launch of Endstate Authentic mark an
