More than 80 current and former participants of the Berlinale have signed an open letter to the festival condemning what it claims has been its \u201csilence\u201d when it comes to the conflict in Gaza and the \u201ccensoring\u201d of artists who have spoken out.<\/p>\n

Actors Tilda Swinton<\/a>, Javier Bardem<\/a>, Angeliki Papoulia<\/a>, Saleh Bakri<\/a>, Tatiana Maslany<\/a>, Peter Mullan<\/a> and Tobias Menzies<\/a>, as well as directors Mike Leigh<\/a>, Lukas Dhont<\/a>, Nan Goldin<\/a>, Miguel Gomes<\/a>, Adam McKay<\/a> and Avi Mograbi<\/a> are among the signatories of the letter, which says they \u201cexpect the institutions in our industry to refuse complicity in the terrible violence that continues to be waged against Palestinians.\u201d<\/p>\n
