Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested early Tuesday morning in New Orleans after allegedly hitting two people during Mardi Gras celebrations, police confirmed to celebrity.land. He has been charged with two counts of simple battery. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Investigators say LaBeouf was causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive at a Royal Street business. TMZ reported<\/a> that it was a bar in the city\u2019s French Quarter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Police told celebrity.land the actor was forced to leave the business, and once outside, he hit someone using a closed fist \u201cseveral times,\u201d then left and came back \u201cacting even more aggressive.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Multiple people tried to hold LaBeouf down, police said, but he allegedly hit the same person again. He then allegedly hit another person in the nose. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n LaBeouf was reportedly held down until police arrived and then taken to a nearby hospital for undisclosed injuries. His representatives did not immediately respond to celebrity.land\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n LaBeouf, who had breakout roles in Disney\u2019s \u201cEven Stevens\u201d and \u201cHoles,\u201d was arrested for disorderly conduct in 2014 at New York\u2019s Studio 54. After pleading guilty, he sought treatment for alcohol abuse<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n In 2017, he was again arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication in Savannah, Georgia. Body camera footage showed the actor issuing a racist rant against police<\/a> during that incident. In 2020, he was charged<\/a> with misdemeanor battery and petty theft, but after completing a diversion program, his charges were dropped. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
