{"id":2286921,"date":"2026-02-18T05:08:52","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T05:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2286921"},"modified":"2026-02-18T05:08:52","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T05:08:52","slug":"ethics-across-the-curriculum-slattery-center-lectures-upcoming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/ethics-across-the-curriculum-slattery-center-lectures-upcoming\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethics Across the Curriculum, Slattery Center Lectures Upcoming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span>The University of Scranton this spring will welcome national thought leaders as part of a series of lectures on topics including ethics, history, religion and social issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>First, on Thursday, Feb. 19, Meghan Sullivan, Ph.D., the Wilsey Family Collegiate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, will present \u201cLoving Strangers\u201d as part of the University\u2019s<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scranton.edu\/academics\/provost\/ethics_across_curriculum.shtml\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Ethics Across the Curriculum<\/a><span> initiative. Dr. Sullivan is the founding director of Notre Dame\u2019s Institute for Ethics and the Common Good and has received millions of dollars of grants to support ethics-based work and research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr. Sullivan\u2019s lecture is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the PNC Auditorium inside the Loyola Science Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A series of Gail and Francis Slattery Center for Ignatian Humanities-sponsored lectures \u2014 with support from various other offices and departments \u2014 begins Wednesday, Feb. 25, and closes on Thursday, April 23, with the annual <strong>Sondra H\u201987<\/strong> and <strong>Morey Myers H\u201912<\/strong> Distinguished Visiting Fellowship in the Humanities and Civic Engagement Lecture. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>All lectures are free and open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here is a list of the upcoming events:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>When<\/strong>: 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Where<\/strong>: Pearn Auditorium, Brennan Hall<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Who<\/strong>: Amy Jill-Levine, Ph.D., Rabbi Stanley M.
