Rana Daggubati Believes His Era Came to an End

Rana Daggubati sat down with Rhea Chakraborty<\/a> on her podcast, Chapter 2, and talked about how Bollywood\u2019s image of a stereotypical attractive man changed his perception of himself. This came with the perception of him as a \u2018hot guy\u2019 in the film industry.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a bunch of films I was supposed to do. There was a story of a big-a** wrestler and those kinds of films. So, I don\u2019t look like any of those guys. I was returning advances back and all that was going on.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

He had a lot of films lined up, ready to do and grow his career even more. However, his own image started fluctuating because of his health issues. He realised that he looked different from all the newer actors, and it got worse for him, so much so that he returned advances.\n<\/p>\n

Rana Daggubati underwent a transplant after his kidney failed and he developed heart-related issues. The break he took from acting made him think that he wasn\u2019t good looking anymore.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember there was this friend of mine who\u2019s an actor, Varun Tej. He came to see me at some point. He\u2019s a really big guy, too. Halfway through the conversation, that guy was looking more like me that I knew than me…I was like, why don\u2019t I just patch on all these stories to this guy and get it done? It was strange, not recognising a version of you was confusing. I think if I weren\u2019t an actor, I don\u2019t know if I would\u2019ve been able to cope with that.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

He wanted to pass on all his projects to his actor friend, Varun Tej, because of how much he saw himself in the actor. His issues slowly changed and got better, but the lost projects were gone.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
