iOS 26.4 is packed with new features and changes<\/a>, including five updates for the Music app. Here\u2019s everything new for Apple Music in iOS 26.4.<\/p>\n

#1: Playlist Playground<\/h2>\n

iOS 26.4 uses Apple Intelligence to power a new Playlist Playground feature<\/a> in Apple Music.<\/p>\n

When creating a new playlist in the Music app, you\u2019ll now see the option to enter a prompt for AI to use to automatically put a playlist together. The Music app also provides suggested prompts you can use to get started.<\/p>\n

You can always manually add and remove songs to your liking, and make follow-up requests, but Playlist Playground provides a convenient starting point for new playlists.<\/p>\n

#2: New design for albums and playlists<\/h2>\n

Apple has given albums and playlists a new, fullscreen design in iOS 26.4.<\/p>\n

Now, the artwork for an album or playlist will be used to style the entire background of the track list and other UI elements.<\/p>\n

So if an album has a prominent blue color in its artwork, a similar shade of blue will likely fill the whole screen. Sometimes complementary colors are used too, such as a black background when the artwork has shades of white and gray.<\/p>\n

Last year Apple launched a new Ambient Music feature<\/a> for Control Center. It allows you to quickly, conveniently start playing music for one of four moods:<\/p>\n
