Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/a> bassist Flea has confirmed that the band is working on new music.<\/p>\n

In a new interview, <\/em>when questioned whether the four-piece has a 13th album on the horizon, the bassist revealed that, together, the band has \u201cbeen writing music together, recording at [guitarist]\u00a0John Frusciante\u2019s house, and the music feels great.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Red Hot Chili Peppers last released a full-length project in 2022. Flea gestured towards their last LP, Unlimited Love, <\/em>and admitted that they\u2019ve taken longer to come around to new music creation as they\u2019re hunting for that same \u201cmagic\u201d. <\/p>\n

He shared with MOJO<\/a><\/em>, \u201cUltimately, once we start playing, it\u2019s about\u2026 just catching a magic groove and doing it good.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not the only challenge the band has come across. Flea added, \u201cIt\u2019s like being in a marriage with four people that\u2019s always moving and changing, all these challenges and all the things that you have to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the Los Angeles band seem to have moved past that issue: \u201cEgos are inescapable and my ego is as big and as fragile as anybody\u2019s<\/a>,\u201d Flea mused, before adding, \u201cBut it\u2019s always, no matter what, this intrinsic part of who I am and it\u2019s alive and it\u2019s beautiful and you never know what shape it\u2019s going to take next. I really feel like that right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, there was more movement in the Red Hot Chili Peppers universe as the band was forced to publicly distance itself from an upcoming Netflix documentary,\u00a0titled\u00a0The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/em>, helmed by director Ben Feldman.<\/p>\n

They shared a statement about the Netflix documentary, clarifying at the time, \u201cThis documentary is now being advertised as a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary, which it is not. We had nothing to do with it creatively.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Flea is set to release his debut solo album Honora<\/a><\/em> on March 27th through Nonesuch Records. Last month, he previewed the record with \u2018Traffic Lights\u2019, featuring his former Atoms for Peace bandmate and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.<\/p>\n

In May, he will bring the album to Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, New York, Washington and Los Angeles. Then, later that month, he will perform in Berlin, Amsterdam, London and Paris.<\/p>\n

Flea\u2019s sole UK date is set to take place at the Koko in Camden on May 26th.<\/p>\n
