In the nail-biting climax of \u201cSinners<\/a>,\u201d vampire leader Remmick (Jack O\u2019Connell<\/a>) chases down Sammie (Miles Caton<\/a>) as he tries to escape the carnage that the ghoul and his cohort have wreaked on the living.<\/p>\n

Remmick catches up with him, and the two get into a fight. Sammie smashes Remmick over the head with his guitar before the vampire can sink his claws into him.<\/p>\n

For the scene, which ends with the sunrise and the annihilation of the vampires, director Ryan Coogler<\/a> submerged the cast and crew in a Louisiana lake. \u201cThere was no room for error,\u201d says the film\u2019s prosthetic makeup designer Michael Fontaine<\/a>, who spent weeks planning, sculpting and molding castings.<\/p>\n

To pull that sequence off, Fontaine<\/a> built a fiberglass plate that went on Remmick\u2019s head with magnets attached to it so that a fake guitar resonator could snap into it. \u201cWe have this plate on his head.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
